In preparation for this coming school year, St. John students or members of the parish who participate in sports MUST complete a physical exam with their doctor, and have the approved exam form on file with the CYO office PRIOR to being able to participate. The form MUST be dated after May 1, 2018 in order to be valid. If your child is planning on playing a CYO sport in the fall, please plan to get this completed over the summer months. (Participants must be St. John students or members of the parish).

In order for St. John to offer a sport, there must be a parent volunteer willing to coach each team age group. To coach a CYO sport, you must have completed the Play Like a Champion coaching certification class, and have completed a VIRTUS training. VIRTUS training classes will be offered through the summer, and Play Like a Champion training will be offered starting in August – more information is available on the CYO website: http://www.cyojwa.org/ Flag football coaches must also complete and maintain a “Level 1 Certification” from USA Football which must be completed over the summer months prior to organizing a team.
