TED TALK: Pope Francis

A single individual is enough for hope to exist, and that individual can be you, says His Holiness Pope Francis in this searing TED Talk delivered directly from Vatican City. In a hopeful message to people of all faiths, to those who have power as well as those who don’t, the spiritual leader provides illuminating commentary on the world as we currently find it and calls for equality, solidarity and tenderness to prevail. “Let us help each other, all together, to remember that the ‘other’ is not a statistic, or a number,” he says. “We all need each other.” You can see a full transcript of the talk here.

You can see the entire 18-minute talk with subtitles below, or click here for the TED Talks website.

A New Class with Fr. Barnabas …Coming this Fall

The Life of Christians in the Early Roman Empire
Life was dangerous for the earliest Christians. Unless they agreed to worship the gods of Rome, they could not work and would be persecuted. So how did this “small, despised and illegal Jewish cult” of a few thousand members grow to the point that it would become the dominant cultural force in Rome by 325 A.D.? How that all happened will be the subject of Fr. Barnabas’s next class beginning in September.
